The app is compatible with Jira, Jira Service Management, Jira Work Management and Jira Products Discovery. For JSM, the app works for both, agents and customers.
After installation, administration for Browser Notifications for Portal Customers is available in the "Apps" administration menu:
After clicking Push notifications, the user will be navigated to the configuration page. The configuration page shows the button for enabling push notifications for the Jira instance:
To enable push notifications for the Jira instance, please click the button “Subscribe“ and follow the instructions:
After clicking the button, browser notifications for the Jira site should be enabled (the screenshot below shows an example for Microsoft Edge browser):
Depending on the browser version, manually allowing notifications might be needed. Please see the following instructions how to allow notifications for various browsers:
After clicking “Allow for the site”, the user will see a notification about the successful activation of the push notifications and can close the browser tab:
If, after enabling user cannot receive the notifications, please refer to the Local System Settings to configure notification in the local Operating System.
After successful submission, the app page will show “Unsubscribe” and “Test notification“ buttons:
To test the notifications, just click the button “Test notification”. If the settings (including Local System Setting) allow browser notifications, you should receive test message immediately:
