In Jira Software
Unlimited Async External Data for Jira also works in Jira Software projects. After installation and configuration (see https://twinit.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JDA/pages/531234867 and https://twinit.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JDA/pages/531235195 for more details), the search field will be shown in Issue details, in a right-hand bar under the External data search field:
After clicking the field, a search field will be opened the same way it opens in Customer Portal (see https://twinit.atlassian.net/wiki/spaces/JDA/pages/531104323), but in the right-hand sidebar of the issue view:
Leave Request Type emply for a software project in the Field Configuration. Otherwise Search field will not be displayed in Issue View.
Based on the configuration, if Target Field or Copy to Summary are not selected, the search results will be displayed below the search field:
If Target Field or Copy to Summary are selected, the search results will update the corresponding field, and the search field will be refreshed:
In the issue view from a Backlog or Sprint, the target fields will be updated if they are configured (see and Search Field | Copy to Summary). However to display the updated value of the field, page refresh is needed!
