To enable push notifications for the Portal Customers, the user should follow the instructions below:

Push notifications are supported on Windows OS (starting from Windows 7) and MacOS for the following browsers:

  • Google Chrome

  • Microsoft Edge (Chromium)

  • Mozilla Firefox

Push Notifications are not supported in Incognito modes!

Push notifications for Safari are not supported

  1. Navigate to the user profile, through the user avatar sub-menu:

  2. In the user profile, click “Click to subscribe“ button to enable the notifications:

To enable push notifications for the Customer Portal, please click the button “Click to Subscribe“ and follow the instructions:

After clicking the button, browser notifications for the JSM Customer portal site should be enabled (the screenshot below shows an example for Google Chrome browser):

After clicking “Allow for the site”, the user will receive a notification about successful activation of the push notifications:

Using the Notifications

After the notifications are enabled, the user will receive the notifications on the following actions:

  • Issue/Request Create

  • Issue/Request Update

  • Comment on the Issue/Request

The notifications are bound to the notifications scheme in the Jira Instance.

The notifications will be received via the standard notifications feature, depending on the Operating System. The sample screenshots below display the notification for Windows 10 / Microsoft Edge and MacOS / Google Chrome:

After clicking “View”, the user will be navigated to the specific Issue/Request in the Jira Instance.
